Want to cook seasonal food, but out of ideas?
Click on the food name! It will direct you to some tips and recipes for the food of your choice.

Seasonal fruits and vegetables are less harmful to the environment than varieties imported from countries outside Europe, transported by plane, or grown in a heated greenhouse.
Vegetables you choose are most sustainable if they come from the Netherlands (same country that you buy them in) from the field or from a greenhouse that does not need much heating. Buying vegetables from Europe is often a sustainable choice as well, because it decreases the chance that the product comes from a heated greenhouse.
The packaging or the store should provide you with information about where the product is from.
In June spring and summer are in the season, including the purslane, spring onion or Bak Choy. Fruits like cherry or strawberry are still available.
